Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- Melt the butter in a large mixing bowl and stir in the granulated and brown sugars until well combined.
- Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract until the batter is uniform and thick.
- In another bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Stir in the red food coloring until the batter is evenly colored.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
Baking
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean yet slightly moist.
- Let cool for a few minutes before cutting into squares and serving.
Notes
For serving, warm brownies with vanilla ice cream or pair with coffee. Can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
