Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (or canola/avocado)
  • 1/4 cup butter Use unsalted butter for better control over the saltiness.
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 3/4 cup granulated white sugar Consider using natural sweeteners like monk fruit for a healthier option.
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips Opt for high-quality chocolate chips for better flavor.
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs eggs For vegan version, replace with flaxseed meal or applesauce.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt, and set it aside.
  3. In a small saucepan over low heat, add butter, oil, water, and sugar. Stir frequently until it reaches a low simmer, then remove from heat.
  4. Stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until melted and smooth.
Mixing
  1. Transfer the chocolate sauce to a large mixing bowl. Whisk in vanilla extract and eggs until well combined.
  2. Gradually add the flour mixture, mixing until fully combined and no dry spots remain.
Baking
  1. Pour the brownie mix into a lightly greased or parchment paper-lined 8"x8" baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  2. Bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out mostly clean.
  3. Remove from oven and allow the brownies to cool before slicing.

Notes

For serving, enjoy warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for longer freshness.
